Growing up in New York, Venus has always had a thing for cooking. She learned from her mom at a young age and at one point sold food in Central Park publicly. From that point, it was in the back of her mind, the way to someone’s heart is through food. It’s a topic of conversation, it fills you up, and best of all it tastes good. Whether it was her mother Amy or herself cooking dinner, there was always a great meal when in their presence. Both of them always wanted the same thing; to make sure if you ate, you enjoyed it. While watching ‘Chef’ one day, Venus and Michael said to each other, “That’s what we’re going to do!” So, fast forward a couple years and now you have Sofrito Tan Rico, a family owned and operated food truck. We strive to provide the same great taste and same great food cooked in Amy and Venus’ kitchens.
