Ever since I was a little girl selling our food at the Puerto Rican parade in NY at Central Park with my Mom, I always said if I  ever had the opportunity to own a restaurant I will cook for the people. Well, the opportunity presented itself with a mobile food truck. So, here I am today that little girl all grown up & ready to share everything my mom taught me by cooking for the people & sharing our savory carribbean cuisine with the world & most importantly, your bellies.

I have always had a drive to have freedom by owning a business. I was always working a typical job but I was able to learn a lot about managing and customer experience. I was lucky enough to marry my best friend and business partner. On top of that, I have had the luxury of being able to eat the food she and her mom cooked for years prior to Sofrito Tan Rico being born. Dam it if it wasn’t some of the best food I have eaten in my life. So we took the business drive and their love for cooking and now everyone else gets to share my luxury and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Born in New York, growing up I learned food was used to bring family together. We took a lot of pride in what we cooked and how we cooked it. The 1st thing I learned was to put love into my food. At 12 years old, my mother wasn’t feeling well and had me cook for her and from then on, it was history. I enjoyed cooking and seeing people smile because of food I made. Through the years I have cooked for a lot of people and not one person left my house hungry so now given this opportunity, I am able to reach even more people and add more smiles in this world.

Born in New York and raised in Arizona, I was able to meet a vast amount of different people. One commonality between everyone is the consistent jaw dropping reaction of how something tasted, how filling, and how much people loved everything. For this opportunity to appear and allow us to bring it to everyone and make it a business has been amazing. It allows me to dedicate time to ensuring I can provide the best possible help and support to my family and the public. The goal of having a successful and impacting impression on people through food has now been set and that goal will be obtained.
